From The President

Message to the Beekeeping and Apitherapy World!

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

I am deeply honored and humbled to have been elected as the President of the International Federation of Apitherapy (IFA) on January 25, 2025. I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to all the previous presidents who have shaped the path of this Federation, especially Dr. Ali Timuçin Atayoğlu from Türkiye, who served as IFA President from November 2018 to January 2025, and Dr. Andres Castillo Montenegro from Ecuador, our first IFA President, who led the Federation from its inception in 2004 to 2018.

I am equally grateful to all our dedicated board members, regular members, and especially our former Secretary, MSc., Ing. Agr., and ND Jose Cabrera from Ecuador, whose contributions have laid a strong foundation for the remarkable progress of our Federation.

A heartfelt THANK YOU to FELAPI (the Latin Federation of Apitherapy) and all the delegates who participated in our General Assembly.

A special thanks also goes to the Board Members of the American Apitherapy Society, and of course, to my colleagues from the Romanian Apitherapy, Phytotherapy, and Aromatherapy Society. Your support and involvement are truly appreciated.

I am also sincerely thankful to everyone who voted for me and for our new executive team, the Vice-Presidents Dr. Anna Kurek-Górecka (Poland), Dr. Povilas Kalesinskas (Lithuania), Dr. Bridget Goodwin (Australia), and Prof. Dr. Ahmed Gaffer Hegazi (Egypt). Your trust and support mean the world to us.

Additionally, I would like to express my appreciation to the outstanding individuals who have agreed to serve as regional coordinators to promote Apitherapy:

A heartfelt thank-you also goes to the over 30 experts from Argentina, Brazil, Bolivia, Canada, Colombia, Croatia, Ecuador, France, Iran, Kenya, Lithuania, Mexico, Nepal, Peru, Romania, Saudi Arabia, Slovenia, Ukraine, Uruguay, USA, and Venezuela, who have joined our scientific, educational, and practical commissions.

We are also very honored that various national apitherapy associations from Colombia (President Maria Eugenia Sierra Ramirez), Croatia (President Dr. Gordana Hegić), Italy (President Dr. Aristide Colonna), Poland (President Dr. Miroslaw Szczepanski), Serbia (President Dr. Plavšić Zorica) and Spain (President Rosario Zamora) have joined us. We warmly welcome other national associations to become part of our federation in the coming weeks.

As President, my primary goal is to unite beekeepers, apitherapy practitioners, researchers, and associations worldwide under the IFA umbrella. Together, we will strive to establish Apitherapy Centers and Clinics in every country, where certified apitherapy health practitioners can legally and responsibly enhance the health and well-being of thousands within their communities.

Let us work together to elevate Evidence based Apitherapy globally!

    With gratitude,
Dr. Stefan Stângaciu, Romania
